Slick Fishing Charters – Terms & Conditions

 

Welcome to Slick Fishing Charters. By making a booking and participating in a charter with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following Terms and Conditions.

 

Bookings, Deposits & Payments

 

  • A booking is not confirmed until a deposit has been received by Slick Fishing Charters.

  • A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to secure your charter date.

  • The remaining balance is due 21 days prior to the charter departure date.

  • Bookings made within 21 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking.

  • Failure to pay the remaining balance by the due date may result in the booking being cancelled and the deposit forfeited.

  • All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are subject to change until a booking is confirmed.

 

Guest Cancellations

 

  • The $500 deposit is non-refundable and secures your chosen charter date.

  • Cancellations made more than 90 days before departure may transfer the deposit to another available date within 12 months, subject to availability and at the discretion of Slick Fishing Charters.

  • Cancellations made between 30 and 90 days before departure will result in the loss of the deposit unless the charter date is successfully rebooked.

  • Cancellations made within 30 days of departure may result in the forfeiture of the full charter fee unless the date is successfully rebooked.

  • No-shows, late arrivals resulting in a missed departure, or failure to attend the charter will result in the loss of all monies paid.

 

Weather, Safety & Operator Cancellations

 

  • The safety of our guests and crew is our highest priority.

  • Slick Fishing Charters reserves the right to cancel, postpone, shorten, or alter a charter due to weather conditions, sea state, mechanical issues, safety concerns, government restrictions, or any other circumstances beyond our control.

  • Decisions regarding weather and sea conditions are made solely by the skipper and are final.

  • If Slick Fishing Charters cancels a charter before departure, guests will be offered either:

    • A transfer to another available date; or

    • A full refund of all monies paid.

  • Changes to departure times, fishing locations, target species, or trip duration may be necessary due to prevailing conditions and will not constitute grounds for a refund.

 

Slick Fishing Charters operates in remote marine environments around Broome and the Kimberley. Fishing locations, target species, departure times, and trip plans may change based on weather, tides, sea conditions, and fish activity to ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.

 

Departure & Arrival

 

  • Guests are required to arrive at the nominated departure location at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

  • Late arrivals may result in a shortened charter or missed departure without refund.

  • Charter departure and return times are estimates and may vary due to weather, sea conditions, fishing activity, or other operational requirements.

 

Passenger Conduct 

 

  • All guests must follow the directions of the skipper and crew at all times.

  • Slick Fishing Charters reserves the right to refuse boarding or terminate a charter without refund if a guest behaves in a dangerous, reckless, abusive, intoxicated, or disruptive manner.

  • The skipper’s decisions relating to vessel operations, safety, and passenger conduct are final.

 

Alcohol & Drugs

 

  • Responsible consumption of alcohol may be permitted at the skipper’s discretion.

  • Excessive alcohol consumption is not permitted.

  • Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.

  • Any guest who appears intoxicated prior to departure may be refused boarding without refund.

 

Fishing Regulations

 

  • All fishing activities conducted during the charter must comply with current Western Australian fisheries regulations.

  • Bag limits, size limits, protected species regulations, and seasonal closures apply.

  • Guests agree to comply with all instructions relating to the handling, retention, and release of fish.

  • Slick Fishing Charters supports sustainable fishing practices and may require certain species to be released.

 

Catch Expectations

 

  • Fishing success can never be guaranteed.

  • Fish behaviour, weather, tides, water conditions, and other natural factors influence catch rates.

  • No refunds, discounts, or compensation will be provided if target species are not caught or if catch rates are lower than expected.

 

Medical Conditions & Fitness

 

  • Guests must advise Slick Fishing Charters of any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, mobility limitations, or other circumstances that may affect their participation.

  • Guests are responsible for bringing any personal medications required during the charter.

  • Participation is at the guest’s own risk, and guests should ensure they are physically capable of safely participating in the charter.

 

Liability & Risk Acknowledgement

 

  • Charter activities involve inherent risks associated with boating, fishing, marine environments, weather conditions, wildlife, and remote locations.

  • Guests participate entirely at their own risk.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slick Fishing Charters, its owners, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, illness, death, expense, delay, or inconvenience arising from participation in a charter.

  • Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes any rights or guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

 

Personal Property & Equipment

 

  • Guests are responsible for their personal belongings at all times.

  • Slick Fishing Charters accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

  • Guests may be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of charter equipment damaged through negligence, misuse, or deliberate actions.

 

Photography & Marketing

 

  • Photographs and videos may be taken during charters for promotional, marketing, and social media purposes.

  • By participating in a charter, guests consent to the use of these images unless they notify Slick Fishing Charters in writing prior to departure.

 

Force Majeure

 

Slick Fishing Charters shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, cyclones, natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, vessel breakdowns, industrial disputes, or other unforeseen circumstances.

 

Acceptance of Terms

 

By paying a deposit, making a booking, or participating in a charter with Slick Fishing Charters, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full.
